Bagcilar region is considered one of the most important residential areas, which belonged administratively to the municipality of “Bakirkoy” on the European side of Istanbul, then it was separated and the regions of Mahmoud Bey, Kirazli and Gunesli were added to it to become an independent municipality in the year 1992.
